Commercial Cleaning Team Lead

Are you an experienced, hands-on leader who enjoys working alongside your team while keeping operations running smoothly? We’re looking for a Commercial Cleaning Team Lead to support and lead a busy, professional commercial cleaning operation in Christchurch.

This is a working leadership role where you’ll be on the tools, setting the standard, supporting your team, and being the key link between clients, cleaners, and management. You’ll lead daily workflows, assist with quoting jobs, and ensure every site is delivered to a high standard — including demanding construction and builders cleans.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead from the front, working alongside a team of commercial cleaners
  • Carry out hands-on commercial and construction cleans
  • Coordinate and schedule daily jobs across multiple sites
  • Assist with quoting new work and monitoring job efficiency
  • Be the main point of contact for clients on-site
  • Ensure all cleaning is completed to agreed standards and timeframes
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and reliable team culture
  • Support team performance, wellbeing, and morale
  • Uphold Health & Safety practices and site compliance
  • Ensure equipment, vehicles, and teams are job-ready
  • Identify opportunities for repeat work and service improvements

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience leading teams in a hands-on, physical work environment
  • Physically fit and capable of keeping up with the demands of the role, including lifting, extended periods on your feet, and construction cleans
  • Strong people skills and confidence dealing with clients
  • Practical problem-solver with a proactive, can-do approach
  • Experience coordinating jobs, planning workloads, or quoting
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety requirements (WorkSafe NZ / SSSPs)
  • Reliable, organised, and accountable
  • Full NZ driver’s licence
  • Experience in sensitive environments or aged care is an advantage

Why This Role?

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity in Christchurch, ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example and staying involved on the tools. Working Monday to Friday between 6.30am and 5pm (40 hours per week), you’ll step into a senior team lead role where your contribution is visible, valued, and makes a genuine impact on daily operations.
